PURPOSE: The first national scholarship exclusively dedicated to helping underserved Transgender students get affordable access to a college education.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must identify as Transgender, plan to pursue a degree, or currently pursuing a degree, at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution, have a high school diploma or GED, and be a U.S. Citizen

CRITERIA:  Awards are annual and based on eligibility, financial need, personal hardship, academic merit, and other related considerations

OPPU ACHIEVERS SCHOLARSHIP

The OppU Achievers Scholarship celebrates achievement in its many forms and honors those who create opportunity for themselves and others.

To be eligible for the OppU Achievers Scholarship, a student must:

  • Be enrolled full time in high school or at least part time in college, graduate, professional, or trade school.
  • Possess a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0/4.0.
  • submit a short essay responding to the prompted question on the application.

Scholarship decisions are based solely on an applicant’s essay response. Winners for the OppU Achievers Scholarship are selected four times a year, with submission deadlines on September 30, December 31, March 31, and June 30.

JANUARY 2022 DEADLINE

ALERT 1 STUDENTS FOR SENIORS SCHOLARSHIP

Alert1 is offering a $500 scholarship to a high school student attending an accredited U.S. college or university in 2022.

Eligibility and application details:

Student must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Be a high school or college student attending an accredited U.S. college or university in 2022.
  • Provide answers to 3 essay questions (each answer to be under 300 words).

Deadline:

  • All entries must be submitted by January 10th, 2022 11:59PM PST.

KYOTO PRIZE SCHOLARSHIP

The Kyoto Prize scholarships are based on the annual Kyoto Prize categories of Advanced Technology, Basic Sciences, and Arts and Philosophy and will assist three San Diego County and three Tijuana-area students with higher education. They are valued at up to $10,000 each.

Applicants should:

 Be graduating seniors at San Diego County public, private, or parochial high schools

  • Plan to enroll full-time at an accredited four-year university in the United States in fall
  • Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
  • Be actively involved in serving their community

Deadline to apply is January 9, 2022 at 11:59 p.m.
